| Our Approach To Wellness |
| Overeating and obesity are now epidemic in the United State with one of two Americans overweight and one of three obese. For the first time in human history, the number in overweight and underweight individuals in the world is identical, at about two billion each. The number of death per year resulting from obesity-associated diseases is about 300.000 and the cost to our goverment in health- care expenditures is over $100 billion per year. The solution to the obesity problem is not changing the food supply in some simple way on getting people to climb stairs more often. The problem is personal and so is the solution. When I meet someone trying to lose weight, I help them understand their body and how their personal shape and lean-to-fat ratio affect their ability to lose weight. I also teach them what their target weight should be, given that many people have unrealistic expectations of both the rate at which they can lose weight and how much weight they can lose in a healthy way. I provide them with a simple diet plan that includes specially designed protein shakes for two meals per day, which take advantage of the natural ability of an optimal amount of protein matched to lean body mass to help control hunger. I continue to help them on nutrition after they have reached their target by encouraging them to have one shake per day for life, combined with a healthy diet of colourfull fruits and vegetables and limited amounts of whole grains. I encourage them to take up habits of daily exercise-the only healthy addiction and a great stress reducer. Finally, I share my knowledge with them on how to overcome common roadblocks that could otherwise keep them from reaching their personal goal. Studies show that you can't simply tell people to lose weight, you have to show them how. I have been conducting research on the nature of body fat and how to get people to lose weight and keep it off for the past 20 years. I have helped thousand of people lose weight. I challenge you to step up and become an agent of change joining over one million others in 65 countries around the world. You can make a difference.
